A meticulously detailed 19th Century copy of Raphael's 'Portrait of Leo X', depicting a seated Pope Leo X with two cardinals either side of him. These additional figures are usually identified as ;Giulio di Giuliano de' Medici and ;Luigi de' Rossi.
The artist has captured the depth and gravity of the original oil, with particular skill in the form of clothes and sumptuous fabrics in the composition. Inscribed 'Leo X' and 'Raphael' in graphite to the lower edge.
Well-presented in a gilt wooden frame and cream card mount.

In good condition overall, for a picture of this age. There is some very light foxing to the substrate, with some light creasing to the edges. The mount and frame are in fine condition.
