A sanguine study of a male torso in the manner of Old Master drawings. The study is possibly after a detail from Michelangelo's (1475-1564) 'The Creation of Adam' (c.1508-1512) in the Sistine Chapel. Presented in a white mount and a 19th century burr wood frame with a gilt-effect slip. On laid.Condition
There is some discolouration, slight creasing, and a graphite pencil inscription at the lower edge. There is a very small black mark to the underside of the glazing in the upper-right corner, some chips and losses to the slip, and some mild marks and scratches to the frame.
