Description

A set of four hand-coloured etching illustrations after French painter and printmaker Joseph Louis Hippolyte Bellange (1800-1866), from the book by Paul-Mathieu Laurent de l'Ardeche, Histoire de Napoleon, 1843. Included are 'Hussard, 1795'; 'Regiments Suisses, Grenadiers, 1812'; Fusilier Grenadier (Guard Imperiale)', and 'L'Empereur'. All of similar size and presented in distressed, gilt-effect frames. One is not glazed. On wove.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration, minor surface marks and light foxing. Small scuffs to the frames.
