A finely executed early twentieth-century pencil and watercolour portrait depicting a fashionably attired lady, after the British portrait painter John Downman (1750–1824). Elegantly presented within an oval border, the composition displays delicate detailing and refined draughtsmanship. Monogrammed to the lower centre with the initials of the original artist and dated 1793, referencing the original work. On paper.

Condition

Discolouration to the paper, as is typical for a picture of this age. The artwork is otherwise in good condition.
