Description
A detailed portrait engraving of a Navvy- an unskilled worker- after a pencil drawing by James Ward ARA. Published London 1813, Newman Street. Years of physical labour look to have taken their toll on poor old Ellis, in his patched up workwear and glum facial expression. The print is well presented in a Hogarth style frame and pale blue mount. Glazed. On wove.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. Otherwise in very good condition.
