Description

A chromolithograph portrait of Queen Victoria, designed for a supplement in 'The Graphic Jubilee Number' (20 June 1887) to celebrate the Golden Jubilee. Frederick Sargent (1837-1899) was granted a sitting with the Queen in order to sketch her for this portrait. Presented in a black wooden frame with an ornate gilt-effect inner edge. There is a like impression in the collection of the British Museum. On wove.

Condition

There is a closed tear in the upper-right quadrant measuring 11cm. There are some slight marks to the surface and some minor dents to the frame.
