A delightful Japanese woodblock depicting the pagoda of Ninnaji Temple situated in Western Kyoto, Japan. Ninnaji is a big temple of the Shingon Sect. The five-storey pagoda in the grounds of the temple is a national treasure. The hundreds of cherry blossoms that surround it are famous as a place of scenic beauty. Artist Biography

Benji Asada (1900-1984) was a Kyoto-based woodblock print artist and painter active in the Sosaku Hanga (Creative Print) movement during the early 20th century. He trained at the Kyoto City School of Fine Arts and Crafts, as well as the Kyoto City Specialist School of Painting.
