After Angelica Kauffman - Original 18th Century Etching, Study of a Young Man
DescriptionAn interesting soft ground etching after an Angelica Kauffman study as labelled to the lower edge in pencil. Unsigned. On laid.
Condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. There is a 8cm tear which has been repaired across the lower left corner as shown in photos.
25.5 x 20cm (10" x 7.9")
From an album bearing the engraved bookplate of Charles Vere Dashwood Esquire (1745-1821). We can be certain that each of these etchings is original as the album was in untouched condition. Sadly, every etching has been trimmed to or within the plate. Most of the etchings are by Bartolozzi, after Guercino, Perugino and others. Collection Code 19Vf
