This atmospheric early 20th-century landscape by the artist Adolf Lange (1861-1938) depicts a scenic canal path in The Hague, rendered with soft, impressionistic brushstrokes that capture light breaking through moody clouds. Inscribed to the stretchers verso. Beautifully presented in an intricate gilt frame. On canvas on stretchers.
Condition
Light discolouration to the varnish. Fine craquelure throughout. Overall the artwork is in very good condition for its age. Wear to the frame, including scuffs, chips and stable cracking throughout. The frame has been previously restored.
