A delightful and meticulously detailed pair of traditional 19th Century Chinese gouache figure paintings, depicting an emperor and young dancer with a flag. Both are well-presented in a single wooden frame with gilt-edged wooden mount and gilt slip, as shown. Unsigned. On Pith Paper.
Condition
In good condition overall, for a picture of this age. Some discolouration to the paper, and there is a tear along the upper edge of the left work. The frame is in very good condition, with only light wear.
