Description
A three-page late 19th Century Japanese woodblock triptych, depicting a central male figure in elaborate traditional dress, with a katana, and inscriptions to either side. The artist has used a deep green background in order to enhance the form of the figure, and the overall composition is balanced by the bold Japanese characters. On handmade laid paper. Signed and inscribed.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration, surface dirt and scuffing to the edges. The centre and left page have some losses to their left edges, and some minor surface abrasion, as shown.
