A.J.B. - 1977 Mixed Media Ecce Homo

Description

An extremely unusual and emotive mixed media portrait of Jesus Christ crowned in thorns, also referred to as Ecce Homo. The artist, monogram A.J.B., has used watercolour and gilt paint, burnishing the surface with a blow torch. The result is an arresting and highly intriguing work. Well-presented in a dark mount and thin gilt wooden frame. There is a label to the reverse from Green and Stone of Chelsea, London, SW3. Monogrammed and Dated. On wove.

In fine condition overall. Very minor scuffing to the frame.
