A wonderful snapshot of Edwardian London, showing the facade of the St Ethelburga Church in Bishopsgate with an opticians shop built onto the front (now removed). The artist has signed and dated to the lower right corner and the painting has been presented in a contemporary brushed gilt effect frame. On canvas.

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration.

Collection Information

St Ethelburga-the-Virgin within Bishopsgate is a Church of England church in the City of London, located on Bishopsgate near Liverpool Street station. The church was severely damaged by an IRA bomb in 1993. Following rebuilding and restoration it re-opened as a Centre for Reconciliation and Peace.
