Description
Original 19th Century Sanguine. Laid on paper. Unsigned. Condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. From an album of paintings and drawings in pen and ink and graphite by E.M. Alderson. The oldest work in the album is dated 1810, but we believe the album itself dates from the second half of the 19th Century. Many are signed by Alderson, others are presumably from family members, friends and acquaintances including Lady Alderson, one bearing the signature Varley, and others.Size
10.7 x 20.3cm (4.2" x 8")
