This charming 19th-century oil painting depicts a tranquil riverside scene in which a windmill turns gently in the distance while a solitary figure stands along the calm riverbank. Fine craquelure throughout. Some discolouration to the varnish. The artwork has undergone previous restoration, including tear repairs and small areas of overpainting visible under UV light. Overall the artwork is in good condition for its age. Wear to the frame, including scuffs, chips, stable cracking, and losses to the ornaments. The frame has been previously restored, including fills to the paintwork.
