From a large collection of late nineteenth century lithographs from members of the 'Norwich Art Circle'. This artists' group was founded in Norwich in 1885 following on from the great East Anglian Norwich Art Society of John Sell Cotman (1782-1842 ) and John Crome (1768-1821). In 1928 it merged with the Woodpecker Art Club, originally Woodpecker Sketch Club formed in 1887, and was renamed Norfolk and Norwich Art Circle. The Circle has included members of stature such as Arnesby Brown, Alfred Munnings, Jeffery Camp, Michael Andrews, Bernard Meadows, Edward Seago and Bernard Reynolds. The Circle is open to anyone over the age of 17, showing an interest and appreciation of the practice of the visual arts and who has connections with East Anglia.
