A fine copy of the original portrait by Frans Hals. This 1930s homage has been signed indistinctly to the lower right corner and dated "1937." The artist has captured much of the ornate details of the cavalier's lace ruff and embroidery on his jacket. The painting has been presented in a gilt slip. On canvas.
Condition
There is some craquelure to the surface. The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and surface dirt. Inspection under UV light reveals large areas of restoration. The gilt slip has some foxing and tarnishing.
