A hand-coloured stipple engraving depicting Elizabeth, Countess of Burlington (1760-1835), for many years the Lady George Cavendish, and daughter of the Eighth Earl of Northampton. Signed indistinctly with the name of the artist to the centre of the lower edge. Inscribed with the date and publication information in plate to the upper edge. Presented glazed in an ornate gilt frame with swept corners and floral and foliate moulding. There is a label on the verso with the name of the subject, along with a family tree and further inscription. On wove.
Condition
There is some mild discolouration. There are some losses to the moulding around the edges of the frame.
