Description
This delightful late 18th Century watercolour depicts a lady kneeling at the base of a statue looking into the distance with her hat held to her side. On her knee rests the paws of her loving spaniel who looks lovingly up at her face. The artist uses common motifs used in the rococo period of the late 18th century, with luscious greenery, flowing dresses and the presence of a small lap dog with well-dressed ladies. Unsigned. Presented in a 19th century gilt frame with decorative corner mouldings. On paper.Condition
The painting is in good condition and bright for its age. There are some small scuffs to the frame.
