A remarkable eighteenth century portrait of a gentleman in pastel. Dressed in a gold waistcoat, green jacket with gold embroidery, and a grey wig, the sitter returns the viewer's gaze with a serious expression. Well presented in a gilt oval frame with beaded and lamb's tongue running patterns. Unsigned. On paper.
Condition
Good retention of colour, with only slight discolouration. Scuffs and stable cracking to the frame. Overall, the artwork is in very good condition for its age.
