Collection Information
Sulis Fine Art is delighted to present a collection of original pen and ink drawings taken from Punch, a British weekly magazine of humour and satire established in 1841. A quantity of the designs are after the Victorian illustrator John Leech (1817-1864). Drawn on watermarked laid paper dated 1865-1866, these humorous studies wonderfully capture the social structure of 19th century Britain, in the period when Punch magazine was at its most influential.
