Description

A graphite and watercolour drawing of an obelisk gravestone. A Milman epitaph is inscribed in pen and ink to the lower edge, reading 'It matters little at what hour of the day the righteous falls asleep; death cannot come to him untimely who is fit to die; the less of this cold world the more of heaven; the briefer life, the earlier immortality'. Dated to the lower-left edge. On wove.

Condition

There is some light foxing and some discolouration around the edges. Overall in good condition.
