A rustic country scene far from the madding crowd with a figure readying his wagon for a day's harvest. Presented in a very fine maple veneer frame with hand markings and a gilt-effect slip. Inscribed with the date and location in graphite to the upper-left edge. Unsigned. On watercolour paper laid to wove.
Condition
There is some mild foxing and discolouration. The substrate is detaching slightly from the backing wove at the centre of the lower edge. There are some scuffs at the corners of the frame.
