1807 Engraving - The Head of the Poll or the Wimbledon Shewman & his Puppet

Description

A very fine hand coloured engraving depicting the political events during the early 19th century. Published May 1807 by Walker No.7 Conrhill. The 'puppet' Burdett is shown on top of the pole held by Horne Tooke, in front of the Covent Garden hustings. Also with a small label from John Bull Prints. Unsigned. On wove.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. With minor mount burn and foxing. Overall the condition is very good.
