Charlotte Layton - Original 1799 Embroidery. A Fancy String of Flowers on Shakespear's Tomb by Charlotte Layton. A very fine silk needlework panel. In a verre eglomise frame giving a date, title, and attribution. I have not examined this out of the frame. In excellent condition for a silk panel of this age. There is a 2mm area of loss over her cheek, and a small area of defect in the sky. Otherwise superb. Colours are well-retained. The frame has losses as shown. In fine condition.
