Description

A charming watercolour depiction of the beautiful ruin of Tintern Abbey in Monmouthshire. The ruin is surrounded with overgrowth and trees, painted in the typical style of the era. The artist has dated to the lower right and there is a later date and inscription the lower edge. The painting is handsomely presented in a late 19th Century gilt frame with Hogarth elements, beaded strap work and lamb's tongue at the inner window.
