William Say - Original 1833 Mezzotint. After a painting by H. Fradelle. We recently acquired a number of fine Mezzotints previously owned by Chris Lennox-Boyd, owner of the finest collection of British Mezzotints in private hands. Signed in plate. On laid. Some staining to paper, with minor bending and small losses to sides. 5 tears along the left edge. Size of the image is 37.8 x 50.3 cm. The full sheet size is 43.1 x 51.8cm.

William Say (1768 - 1834) Mezzotint engraver of portraits and historical, genre and decorative subjects after his contemporaries and Old Master Painters. Born near Norwich, he came to London at the age of Twenty and was apprenticed to J. Ward. In 1807 he was appointed engraver to the Duke of York.
