William Say (1768-1934) - Original 1808 Mezzotint. After the painting by W.Owen Esq., R.A. Published May 12th 1808 by the engraver. From the collection of Christopher Lennox-Boyd. Signed in plate. In fine condition.

William Say (1768 - 1834) Mezzotint engraver of portraits and historical, genre and decorative subjects after his contemporaries and Old Master Painters. Born near Norwich, he came to London at the age of Twenty and was apprenticed to J. Ward. In 1807 he was appointed engraver to the Duke of York.
