A delicate and charming watercolour by the artist William Deas (b.1876), depicting a river flowing over rocks in the woods. Well presented in a double card mount and a simple wooden frame. Signed in the lower right hand corner, as shown. Signed. On watercolour paper.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration, particularly around the edges of the mount. The frame is generally in good condition with some very minor scuffed edges.

Artist Biography
Perth born painter mainly in watercolour and tempera of landscapes and interiors. He studied locally under William Proudfoot and until 1923 was really an amateur artist only turning professional after that date. Deas exhibited at the RSA, RSW, RI, AAS, RBA, GI and at the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool.
