The landscape shows the monuments at Easter island on the coastline with cliffs, native plant life and a human skeleton in the foreground. A small figure carrying a stick and a basket stands at the foot of the huge stone heads. The bottom of the plate has an inscription stating the date and publisher's details as well as the engraver's name and the name of the original artist. On laid.Condition
The print is in remarkable condition given its age. There is some dirtying to the surface and a 1cm horizontal tear to the lower edge outside the plate lines and two 2cm horizontal tears to the upper edge outside the plate lines. All tears have been fully stabilised. There is creasing at all four corners. The image itself and the original plate lines remain undamaged and in tact. There is no discolouration.
