Description

A watercolour and gouache painting after an engraving of the Queen's Head and Artichoke, a pub on Albany Street beside Regent's Park in London, in 1819. Inscribed with this information to the verso of the painting and copied out on the verso of the frame. Pigs and chickens wander in the foreground as patrons drink in the courtyard. Presented glazed in a cream mount and a reeded wooden frame. Signed to the lower-right edge. On wove.

Condition

There are some slight marks to the substrate and frame. There are pinholes to the upper corners. Overall in very good condition.
