A pretty oil landscape in a delicate palette showing a view of Ennerdale Water which is the most westerly lake in the Lake District National Park in Cumbria,. The artist has used soft expressive brush strokes to fill the canvas.
The artist has signed to the lower left corner. The painting is on canvas over stretchers.

The painting is in remarkably good condition given its age. There is some wear to the paint around the edges and corners and minor discolouration.

Artist Biography
Son of Bristol Colliery owner Henry Weathered. Vernon studied at Clifton College between (1875-1884). He then went on to study at Oriel College Oxford and the Slade School of Fine Art, London. He was elected to the New England Art Club in 1932 and exhibited 37 works at the NEAC, 57 at the Redfern Gallery and various other salons.
