A highly textured and vibrant post-impressionistic landscape in oil by the artist Stella Mary Edwards, or 'Yram Allets'. With abstracted details and layered paintwork, in a style evocative of the St Ives School. Well-presented in a contemporary white wooden frame. With the artist's label to the reverse. Signed and incsribed on the reverse. On board.Condition
In good condition overall. Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration. There are some small stains along the lower edge of the frame, and general light scuffing to the edges.

Artist Biography
This artist was the wife of John Edwards, and as yet we know little about her. Under her painting name of Yram Allets (Mary Stella backwards) she is listed in exhibition catalogues held by STISA (St Ives Society of Artists) for 1959. Both Stella and John Edwards were active in Cornwall in the 1960's and 1970's.
