The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration, foxing and surface marks. Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration.

Artist Biography
Stacey Blake (1873-1964) was a watercolour artist, extensive traveller and writer. Blake trained as an illustrator, however painting for became more of a hobby than a profession for Blake and he is chiefly known for his charming water colour drawings of old towns and ancient buildings, and scenes on the coast; all most delicately handled with fine execution. He showed his work in the Nottingham Castle Museum, Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool, and Derby Art Gallery. For many years he was President of the Nottingham Society of Artists. Nottingham Castle Museum has examples of his work.
