A charming watercolour painting by British artist Sidney Currie. The scene depicts a countryside view with several white lily flowers by a cottage. Signed to the lower left-hand corner. Well-presented in a washline card mount and in a distressed gilt effect frame. On watercolour paper.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and light foxing, mainly to the sky area. Minor surface marks to the mount and very small scuffs to the frame.

Artist Biography
Sidney Currie (act. 1892-1930) was a Birmingham painter working in Colmore Row, and later living in Worcester. He exhibited once at the RA and similarly at the ROI, but maintained a regular flow of work to the RBSA and exhibited with the Birmingham Art Circle. He was elected an Associate of the RBSA in 1910 and member in 1921. An example of his work is in the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. His death was registered in Gloucester.
