Description

A very fine watercolour depicting a traditional Russian bride and gentleman. Her headpiece is adjusted by the smartly dressed gentleman in a green overcoat. Inscribed to the reverse 'Countess Henbuck'.

Affixed to the rear of the painting is a note that reads 'This picture was also painted by a Russian Princess & given to the Rev. Fred Irvine in Russia at a Royal Navy Chaplain w at USSR at the time of the Russian Revolution.'

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. There is some dirt under the glazing and some marks on the mountboard.
