Rudolph Helmut Sauter (1895-1977) - Original Mid 20th Century Watercolour. With charcoal. Unsigned. On wove. In fine condition.Rudolph Helmut Sauter (1895-1977). Sauter studied art in London and Munich. He exhibited at the RA, RI, and the Pastel Society. He won an honorary mention at the Salon in Paris. The National Portrait Gallery, Royal West of England Academy and Ferens Art Gallery, Hull hold examples of his work. During the war he was Interned in the Alexandra Palace camp, north London, and Frith Hill camp at Frimley, Surrey. Sauter was a nephew of the novelist John Galsworthy.Size
