A well presented still life depicting Giant Marguerite Daisies in a vase from British artist Robin Mackervoy. Well painted with a skilful use of tone and mark making. Mackervoy has been a member of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters since 2006. Presented in a modern wooden frame with material inlay. Signed. On canvas board.

Condition

Minor dent to the canvas board to the lower left. Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration. The frame is in excellent condition.

Artist Biography

Born in Hampshire in 1933, Robin Mackervoy generally prefers to work from life, but for works produced in the studio he uses the back-up of photographs. Robin Mackervoy was elected as an associate member of the ROI in 2006 and to full membership in November 2008. He had exhibited each year since 1997 and was awarded the Stanley Grimm prize at the ROI exhibition of 1999.
