Robert Morden (1650-1703) - 19th Century Engraving, The East Riding Of Yorkshire

A finely engraved map of the East Riding Of Yorkshire. This 19th Century strike of the original plate has been hand coloured and is decoratively engraved with an ornate cartouche.

The plate contains the artist's name and the names of the original distributors Abel Swale Awnsham and John Churchill.

The map has been presented in an unglazed gilt effect frame with and off white card mount.

On wove.

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. There is a fold to the centre of the map, most likely where it has been removed from a book. There is some creasing and undulation to the top left corner and some tearing t the top right corner.
