Robert Hills (1769-1844) - Original 19th Century Watercolour. A hunting scene with a caught bore and stag, two hounds looking on. With a stone plinth reading "Germany by MD. Harrison". Fixed to backing paper. From the Baines Family Archive. Unsigned. On wove. Condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. Some slight wrinkling to the paper and tiny foxing spots, with some bleeding of colours in the painted border.

Collection Information

Part of a collection of watercolours, drawings and engravings by, and from the archives of, the Baines Family of Bell Hall, Naburn. Many have been signed by Mary Baines, Hewley John Baines, Hewley Mortimer Baines, or other members of the Baines family.
