Richard Price ROI (b.1962) - Signed and Framed Oil, Towards the Spire
DescriptionThis is an impressive Spanish street scene from popular British artist Richard Prince. The rapid yet precise brushstrokes indicate Price's preference for painting en plein air. The vivid tones and perceptive use of light is typical of the artist's impressive command of the medium. Titled on the reverse. Well presented in a painted and gilt effect frame with cream slip. Signed. On canvas board.
There are some light surface scratches to the frame. Overall the appearance is very good.

Richard Price is a member of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters and sells his work in London and internationally. He has also exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts and the Royal College of Arts. Richard is currently Artist in Residence for Jubilee Year at the Hurlingham Club, London. Richard’s work is concerned with light and atmosphere and falls within the traditions of artists such as Turner and Walter Sickert. While some of his work is done in the studio, Richard is predominantly an ‘en plain air’ painter and mot of his work is therefore painted immediately in front of his subject. The challenge of this type of work is in bing able to rapidly analyse colour and tone at the same time as capturing the constantly moving drama of the environment.
