Item Sold

An interesting study of two dolls in a chair. Inscribed on the reverse 'by Rev.J.W.H. Battiscombe, 1879-1965, prison chaplain. Went to Sidney Sussex, Cambridge'. Further research reveals the Reverends full name to be 'John William Harold Battiscombe', however no further information could be found on the artist. Well presented in a wooden frame. Inscribed on the reverse. On canvas on stretchers.

Areas of very thin paint close to the doll on the right. The canvas has been lightly glazed, inspection under UV light reveals no restoration. Overall the condition is fine.
