Born in Chalfont, Hertfordshire Rideout is known largely for his coaching scenes and a few hunting, coursing and racing paintings. Rideout's' work is widely collected. Well presented in a gilt effect frame with washline mount. Inscribed on the reverse.On board.
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and surface dirt. There is a small area of damage to the sky where the paint has begun to crack. However this could be restored. The frame has a very minor loss to the lower left.
