Description
With a gallery and sale stickers verso. A fine example of Lancaster's work depicting green pastures with cattle by the water's edge. Very well presented in a gilt frame with ornate floral detail and a gilt slip. Signed and dated. On wove.Condition
There are some areas foxing and discolouration, some of which have been covered with white pencil. The ornate moulding of the frame has been touched up, as shown in photos.

Artist Biography
Born in Manchester, Percy Lancaster (1878-1951) studied architecture before taking up painting, studying at the Southport and Manchester Schools of Art. He was Member of the Royal Society of British Artists and a member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours.
