Watercolour, gouache and pastel are combined to create an incredibly intricate depiction of an early morning in Abbeville, France. Signed and inscribed. Well presented in a highly ornate molded and gilded wood frame. On wove.

Condition

There are some minor areas of foxing. The frame has had some areas re-gilded, and there are some scuffs and marks to areas.

Artist Biography

Paul Braddon (1864-1938) was a painter, born James Leslie Crees in Birmingham. He resided for many years in Hull and his work is much influenced by Paul Marny. He is known to have executed many watercolour copies of old prints.
