An English school grisaille watercolour painting depicting 3 figures by a kissing gate, with a church in the far distance on the left. The seated figure appears to be a soldier who has just returned to court the young lady leaning against the gate. The painting is presented in an oval decorative gilt effect frame. Unsigned. On wove.Condition
Overall age toning, foxing and darkening to the picture. Losses to the moulding on the frame along the bottom edge, as shown. Some cracks around the edges but these appear to have been restored.
