Muirhead Bone - Original Early 20th Century Etching. Pencil signed and inscribed. 46 proofs only. Age toning. Abrasions towards the upper edge of the plate. Paper edge irregular at the top.

Muirhead Bone (1876-1953) was born in Glasgow, Scotland. Bone was trained as an architect but worked as an etcher and watercolour artist. Bone settled in London in 1901 where he became a member of the New English Art Club. In 1916 Bone was recruited as Britain's first official war artist. Knighted in 1937, Bone was also a war artist in the Second World War. He became known for his depiction of industrial and architectural subjects.
