A characterful and atmospheric gouache painting by renowned costume designer, Michael Baldwin. The painting shows a warrior in a tribal/sci-fi costume carrying a dagger. The artist has inscribed the painting with the character's name and a brief description of the costume. This particular costume was designed for a pitched film called "The Serpent Of Atlan" which never made it to the screen.

The painting has been signed and inscribed by the artist. It is presented in a peach card mount and a thin, glazed, gilt frame.

The painting is in fine condition. The frame has scuffs and wear to the gilt on all for returned sides and the bottom right right has slightly split.

Artist Biography

Michael Baldwin was a popular costume designer for film and television throughout the late 60s, 70s and 80s. He was most famous for his music video costume design and appeared in most of the videos he designed for, including videos for Elton John, Bonnie Tyler, Billie Joel, Joan Jett and many more global names.
