Mary Fairclough - Original 1937 Pen and Ink Drawing. Unsigned. In fine condition.

Part of a collection we have acquired by illustrator Mary Fairclough. Mary Fairclough (b.1913) Painter, printmaker, illustrator, potter and writer, born in Keynsham, Bristol. She studied at home with Kit Gunton 1926-30, then part-time at the West of England Art College, Bristol. She showed her work at the Clifton Arts Club, and had her work seen by Claude Flight, participating in his lino-cut exhibitions, and also at the Ward Gallery and the RWA. She worked for the publishers Macmillan, Evans Brothers, George Newnes and Pearson’s, illustrating children’s books.
