Surface dirt present.Mary Ann Baines was married to William Mortimer Baines, son of Hewley Mortimer Baines. They married in New Zealand where William bought land and invested in saw milling and gold mining. He was summoned back to Bell Hall as the new heir after the death of his brother, Henry. Arriving in England, Mary Ann, William and their eight children lived at Hemingborough Hall, until William inherited Bell Hall when his father died in 1874.
